2007-present. Converse. Design Director
Design Director of a multidisciplinary design team responsible for creating innovative advanced concepts, performance product for athletes like Dwyane Wade, off court lifestyle products, as well managing retro releases. Based on the Nike Campus, our studio frequently collaborates with the Nike Innovation Kitchen.
 
2004-2007. Nike, Brand Jordan division. Designer
Designing Basketball, Training, Lifestyle, and Women’s product that uphold Jordan Brand principals. Lead designer on Jordan Lifestyle silo of product, responsible collaborating on direction. Assisted with intern selection and mentorship. Collaborated with Jordan Accessories on a line of bags. Collaborated with Jordan Brand design on 2007 graphics and identity package. Assist design director with seasonal direction and presentations. Gave presentation on design ethos to Nike Design at request of VP, John Hoke. Volunteered to designed boxing boot for the Bejing Olympics. Directed Nike Design Recruitment video for Lisa Olivia.
 
2004-2006. Art Institute of Portland. Faculty Member, Design Steering Committee.
Taught Classes in footwear design, design drawing, and critical design problem solving. Member of Design Department’s steering committee, a panel of professionals who develop curriculum. Lecturer and Critic.
 
2003-present. Core77 Design. Author, Moderator and Producer
Wrote several articles on Design theory and practice. Moderate footwear design and design student discussion groups. Currently producing a design event in Portland, Oregon.

Freelance Design for clients: Bose, Schick, Think Design, EVOdesign, Intel, GAC, and Carroll Motorsports. Given lectures on design at Adobe, Columbus College of Art and Design, and RISD.
 
2003-2004 Nike, Sport Culture Division. Designer
Designed product for Metro, Urban, and Sport Inspired categories. Responsible for researching and designing  global products that communicate stories to reinforce the message of the brand. Assisted defining and setting direction for consumer categories. Collaborated with Brand Design and Nike PR to bring design stories to consumers. Assisted running consumer focus groups. Participated in consumer research sessions.
 
1999-2003. EVO design. Senior Designer
Led product design projects for a large array of clients including: Nike, Burton, Bose, Intel, Williams-Sonoma, Crate & Barrel, Hummer, Waring, Hasbro, VTech, Bic, Schick and Kodak. Managed projects through all phases of design cycle including: moderating brainstorm sessions, initial concept sketches, polished presentation renderings, supervising model making, guiding design implementation in engineering phases, presenting and explaining design at all phases to design, engineering and marketing personnel. Responsible for exploring new aesthetics for design team. Managed interns and ran sketch seminars.
 
1998-2006. Gisser Automotive Concepts. Freelance Designer.
Exterior and interior concept generation on a variety of projects including two mid-engine sports car programs, and several body kits.
