I joined the parent company to Polk Audio, Sound United, in 2012 as Chief Design Officer with a clear mandate to inject design centric thinking and innovation into the brand.

To fully utilize the company's 40+ year history as innovator of audio I started by sharpening the brand positioning, redesigning the brand mark, and developing a new design language that focused on showing this brand as an American Icon of inventiveness.

In the first year I built a design team and studio called the Global Design Center (GDC), redesigned the headquarters, rolled out the rebrand, and with my team designed the first products in the new language. Since the Global Design Center's inception in 2012 we have averaged 20 new products a year. We helped the company innovate in it's core categories of component home theater, sound bars, and car audio, as well as enter the headphone, bluetooth speaker, airplay speaker, gaming, and smart speaker categories.

Contributions included: design research, insight identification, opportunity assessment, design language development, innovation platform development, UX/UI industrial design, branding, packaging direction, POP direction, art direction of photo and video shoots, social media strategy, and presenting product to buyers at major retailers and media outlets.
